Stefan Spengler, Dr. phil., StR, ist Kunst- und Geschichtspädagoge. Er studierte und promovierte am Institut für Kunstpädagogik der Universität Leipzig. An der IU Internationalen Hochschule lehrte er in den Studienbereichen Kindheitspädagogik und Soziale Arbeit. Seine Unterrichtserfahrung umfasst allgemeinbildende und berufliche Gymnasien, Berufskollegs, Berufsfachschulen, die Fachschule für Sozialpädagogik sowie Bildungsgänge der Berufsvorbereitung und des Vorqualifizierungsjahres Arbeit/Beruf mit Schwerpunkt Erwerb von Deutschkenntnissen. 

Zu seinen Tätigkeitsfeldern gehören die Ausbildung von Erzieher:innen im Bereich der bildnerischen Entwicklung und Kreativitätsförderung sowie die fachspezifische Vorbereitung auf Abiturprüfungen. Darüber hinaus war er langjähriger Dozent in der Lehrer:innenfortbildung und in der Medienqualifizierung für Erzieher:innen. 

Er ist Mitglied im BDK e. V. und in der Gesellschaft für künstlerische Forschung in Deutschland. Seine Forschungs- und Publikationsschwerpunkte liegen in der empirischen Bildungsforschung, der Digitalisierung kunstpädagogischer Praxis, Künstlerkooperationen und außerschulischen Lernorten.

Stefan Spengler, Dr. phil., StR, is an art and history educator. He studied and completed his doctorate at the Institute of Art Education at Leipzig University. At IU International University of Applied Sciences, he taught in the degree programmes Early Childhood Education and Social Work. His teaching experience encompasses general and vocational upper secondary schools, vocational colleges, vocational schools, the College of Social Pedagogy, as well as pre-vocational education programmes and the Pre-Qualification Year for Work and Vocational Training with a focus on German language acquisition.

His areas of professional activity include the training of early childhood educators in visual development and creativity enhancement, as well as subject-specific preparation for upper secondary school leaving examinations. In addition, he worked for many years as an instructor in continuing professional development for teachers and in media education programmes for early childhood educators.

He is a member of BDK e. V., the German Professional Association for Art Education, and the Society for Artistic Research in Germany. His research and publication interests focus on empirical educational research, the digital transformation of art education practice, collaborations with artists, and learning in extracurricular settings.
